How it works

From “I don’t want this anymore” to “it’s posted on Kerb Side” in under a minute.

  1. 1

    Post it

Snap a photo, add a name and a category, and confirm where it can be collected from. Under a minute, start to finish.

  2. 2

    Someone nearby claims it

Your listing appears to people within a few kilometres. The first person to tap "I'll collect it" gets it.

  3. 3

    The address is shared privately

Only the person who claimed your item sees your collection address — never the public listing.

  4. 4

    They collect it

They come and pick it up from wherever you said — the front gate, the driveway, behind the garage.

  5. 5

    Mark it gone

Tap "It's gone" and the listing disappears. That's one more thing kept out of landfill.

Why Kerb Side?

Less waste. More reuse. Stronger communities.

Less waste

Every couch, box of books and bag of garden pots that finds a new home is one that never reaches a landfill.

More reuse

Perfectly usable things get thrown away every day simply because moving them on is a hassle. Kerb Side removes the hassle.

Stronger communities

Kerb Side is local by design — a five kilometre radius means the person collecting is genuinely your neighbour.

“One person’s unwanted item could be exactly what someone nearby needs.”

Your address stays yours

Kerb Side is built around one rule: your exact address is never public. Browsers see an approximate distance and a rough area — never a street number.

Approximate locations only
Listings show “about 1.8 km away” or “near Tauranga South”. Map pins are deliberately offset from the real location.
Shared once, with one person
Your collection address is revealed only after someone claims your item, only to that person, and access ends once you mark it gone.
Report anything that looks wrong
Every listing can be reported. Weapons, drugs, hazardous materials and anything for sale are removed automatically and reviewed by our team.
